Just Chillin'

Baby Joey spends much of his day (that is when he's not eating or sleeping in mommy's arms) just laying on the floor kicking like crazy or looking at his happy hippo or just chillin' in his chair. Unlike many babies, he is up a lot during the day because he sleeps 12 hours (yes, that's stright through)at night, most nights it's 8-8! It doesn't get any better than that. God Bless him! He's a very content baby that truly doesn't generally fuss, just hangs out and smiles a lot.

A Little Man...

Joey was stylish sporting his polo shirt and plaid shorts the other weekend; he looked just like a mini-daddy. It's so fun to play dress-up (although he wasn't as impressed with the game and wouldn't sit still for too long. Sorry the pictures are fuzzy)

Tummy Time!

or is that a tummy time-out? Just like most babies, Joey is okay with tummy time only for a short while, then he gets fighting mad! We still make him do it in order to strengthen his neck though (I know, mean mommy!)

2 Months Old!

Joey is 2 months old and growing like a champ! He got a clean bill of health at his two month check-up, and sadly a set of shots too. Whaaaaaaaaaaa! I think it was harder on mommy than baby! Some of his vital, growing stats:

• 90th percentile of height at 24 1/2 inches long
• 35th percentile of weight at 10 pounds 12 ounces
• 100th percentile of cuteness - no baby cuter!

We have a long, skinny, beautiful baby!

See, we weren't kidding about being a major Twins fan already :)

We're Gonna Win Twins...

We're gonna score...

Joey cheers on the Twins - and that other Big Joe...Mauer - every night with mommy and grandpa (and sometimes aunt Shelby and even grandma). As we try hard to chase Detroit, and things heat up in the wild card race (Yankees, Sox, who?), Joey makes sure to wear his Twins gear while cheering them on!

Someday, he plans to wear the real uniform and be on the cover of Sports Illustrated like the other Joe too, but for now this jersey from uncle Jeff will do :)

Happy as a Hippo!

We're finally back online with photos! For a week we didn't have a camera, and then there were problems with the website. Either way, we're back now!

Joey has been growing like crazy, and we can hardly wait to see what he weighs at tomorrow's 2 month check-up. He is very alert and stays awake for long periods of time now - to enjoy fun things like his "happy hippo mat". He lays on the mat (which looks like a hippo) and talks to the toys hanging down. Such a big boy!

Long Time Gone

The posts have been few and far between these past two weeks. Sorry about that, all you baby Joey lovers. I had some camera battery issues, but we should be able to post something tomorrow. Can you believe I've gone nearly a week without photos of him? Bad mommy! Rest assured, he's still the cutest, smiling baby around!

Something to Smile About...

Joey recently showed us his first real smile, and yesterday he had lots to smile about. It was Mackenzie's 6th birthday (happy b-day, princess) and grandma Hudson came home. Joey was a happy baby!

Six Weeks Old...

...and eating like a tiger! Baby Joey is obviously growing because he cannot stop eating today! He's a good little eater though (of course). And check him out in a real, big-boy outfit. He was stylish sporting the overalls!

This past weekend he even went on his first golf outing, as it was the 7th annual Stanton Family Irish Open. Grandma's team won (again, we think she cheats). Mommy's team did not do too well, but had lots of fun. Many great-aunts were lined up in the clubhouse (where he stayed due to the horrid heat and humidity) to help care for Joey while mom was out on the course. He was a perfect little boy for them :)

Whaaaa, I Miss Grandma & Grandpa!

Grandma and Grandpa Hudson are still frolicking on the beaches of North Carolina and miss our little buddy so. Rest assured, baby Joey misses them too - just look:

Bouncey Chair Fun

Joey has discovered the joys of another cool chair/toy...the bouncy seat. It's fancy, featuring vibration and the music of baby Mozart. However, he has to keep a close eye on that lion!

Lounging...

Sometimes, it's hard work being baby J, and he just needs to kick back, stretch out and relax. We had another big outing last night as we picked up dad at the airport (HOORAY, dad is home!). Clearly, it tired out baby and he needs some lounging time. It must have been rough on him - instead of sleeping in his crib, he had to sleep in the carseat for a few hours :)

Joey's Big Adventure

We had our first out of town adventure on Wednesday when we went to visit mommy's co-workers and friends at Xcel Energy to help celebrate "Xcel aunt" Cheryl's birthday.


We're all buckled up and ready to go visit!













Joey was, of course, the perfect little boy and woke up for a bit to show off those cute eyes and pose for pictures!

1 Whole Month

We've graduated to celebrating Joey's age in months now, as baby Joe is 1 month old today - congrats and happy birthday, Joey!

He had an eventful 1 month birthday, traveling to Minneapolis to visit mommy's co-workers (who, obviously, found him absolutely precious...pictures of the big adventure coming soon).

Daddy is excited to be able to move on to the next chapter - month 2 - in the "What to Expect the 1st Year" book :)

Happy 4th of July!

Joey recently decided he likes his baby swing, much to the happiness of mommy. Now, he has a place to sit and "play" when mom needs a free hand.

Beach Ready

Daddy, grandma, grandpa, aunt Alison and uncle Jeff all headed out East this weekend for their annual vacation on beaches of North Carolina. Baby Joey was there in spirit, and even dressed the part...

Mommy, Joey and Ian pose for the camera. Ian LOVES his baby cousin so much that we weren't allowed to take a picture without him at first. He loves to help feed and to "hold Joey". Ian's idea of holding him is having his hand on Joey's head. He's such a character.



And here it is...mommy and me. Maybe there will be a better one soon. I know grandma Suse took a good one this past weekend.

3 Weeks!

Baby joey is three weeks old today! Time is moving too quickly already. We played with some of the camera settings - taking black & white photos, "old fashion" photos and just normal, color ones. So, if you're wondering, he doesn't have jaundice, it's just mommy messing around with the camera - his coloring is perfect, naturally :)
